A dedicated development team is a group of engineers that works only on your product, managed day to day by your product leaders, while a vendor handles hiring, payroll, contracts, and replacements. It sits between hiring in house and handing a whole project to an outsourcing firm. This guide compares eight companies that buyers and AI assistants name most often when someone asks where to hire a dedicated software development team, using facts you can check on each firm's own site, its Clutch profile, or its public filings.
Webisoft publishes this list and ranks itself first: we know our own delivery record best and say so openly. The other firms follow in alphabetical order, and every firm, Webisoft included, is held to the same sourcing standard. A talent marketplace that matches one senior engineer in days and a 60,000 person engineering company that staffs whole programs solve different problems. Use the comparison table to narrow the field, read the notes on each firm, then use the buyer guide to test fit before you sign.
How to choose a dedicated development team company
The labels vary: dedicated team, team extension, staff augmentation, pods. A few questions cut through them:
- Marketplace or company. Some providers match vetted freelancers or contractors from a network. Others employ the engineers and manage them as a team. Ask who employs the people on your team and who replaces them if they leave.
- Who manages the work. In a pure dedicated team you run the backlog and sprints. In a managed team the vendor supplies a project manager or tech lead. Decide which you want before you compare prices.
- Time zone and location. Nearshore teams in your time zone keep standups and reviews live. Offshore teams can cost less but shift collaboration to handoffs. Our page on nearshore software development explains the trade off.
- Speed to start. Ask how fast you get shortlisted profiles, interviews, and a first commit, and whether you interview every engineer yourself.
- Security and compliance. If your product handles health, financial, or personal data, ask for current certifications such as ISO 27001 or a SOC 2 report, and confirm how access to your systems is controlled.
- Verifiable proof. Third party reviews and public filings beat logos on a slide. We link those for every firm below.

The companies, in detail
1. Webisoft
Webisoft, which publishes this article, is a Montreal based software development firm founded in 2016, with a second office in Miami (source). Its IT staff augmentation service places senior engineers directly in a client's team, working in the client's repos, standups, and tools, with every candidate vetted by Webisoft's technical leads and interviewed and approved by the client before joining (source). Teams scale from one developer to a full squad, and Webisoft replaces an engineer when the fit is not right (source). Webisoft holds an AICPA SOC 2 Type II report, is HIPAA compliant, and is an AWS Partner and an Odoo Partner (source). On Clutch it holds a 4.9 rating across 23 reviews, a minimum project size of $5,000, and hourly rates of $50 to $99 (source). Its engineers work in English and French. Webisoft tends to fit North American companies that want a small senior team in Eastern time, especially for products that must pass security reviews or handle health and financial data.
2. Andela
Andela was founded in 2014 and operates without a physical headquarters, as a private marketplace for technical talent (source). It connects technologists in about 135 countries with remote contract roles in application development, AI, data engineering, cloud, and DevOps, and handles sourcing, vetting, and onboarding (source). Its talent pool exceeds 150,000 people, and about 60 percent of its contractors are in Africa and Latin America (source). Andela says more than 650 organizations have built with it (source). It acquired Codewars and Qualified.io and launched its Talent Cloud platform (source). Andela tends to fit enterprises that want to hire vetted remote engineers at scale through a platform, and that are ready to manage those engineers inside their own teams.
3. Andersen
Andersen lists Warsaw, Poland, as its headquarters, with offices in Germany, Poland, the UK, and other countries (source). Clutch gives 2007 as its founding year and shows a 4.9 rating across 129 reviews, a minimum project size of $50,000, and hourly rates of $50 to $99 (source). Its dedicated team page reports more than 605 dedicated IT projects, says more than 70 percent of clients extend their initial contract, and promises candidate shortlists within 48 hours and a team launch in 2 to 4 weeks (source). In this model the team takes direction from your managers and follows your sprints, while Andersen handles HR, payroll, contracts, legal compliance, retention, and replacements (source). Andersen tends to fit companies that want a European dedicated team without building an HR operation abroad.
4. BairesDev
BairesDev has operated since 2009 and positions itself as a nearshore partner with engineers aligned to client time zones (source). Its site claims more than 4,000 engineers across more than 100 technologies, more than 500 client companies, and more than 1,480 projects delivered (source). It offers three models: staff augmentation, where senior developers join your team and workflow; delivery pods led by technical project managers; and full software outsourcing (source). Clutch lists San Francisco as its main location, a 4.9 rating across 63 reviews, a minimum project size of $50,000, and hourly rates of $50 to $99 (source). BairesDev tends to fit US companies that want Latin American engineers working their hours and the option to scale from a few people to full pods.
5. EPAM Systems
EPAM Systems is a public company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, headquartered in Newtown, Pennsylvania (source). Clutch gives its founding year as 1993 and lists a minimum project size of $100,000 and hourly rates of $150 to $199 (source). EPAM reported full year 2025 revenues of $5.457 billion and a total headcount of about 62,850 at December 31, 2025, including about 56,600 delivery professionals (source). It describes itself as an AI transformation engineering and consulting company serving Forbes Global 2000 companies and startups (source). EPAM has only one review on Clutch, so its profile there is not a useful signal (source). EPAM tends to fit large enterprises that need several engineering teams, consulting, and governance from one vendor, rather than a single small dedicated team.
6. N-iX
N-iX has delivered software since 2002 and lists more than 2,400 engineers and offices in 10 countries, including Malta, Poland, the US, the UK, Sweden, Colombia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, and India (source). It reports more than 90 enterprise clients and lists team extension as a core offering (source). Clutch lists Malmö, Sweden, as its main location, a 4.8 rating across 35 reviews, a minimum project size of $100,000, and hourly rates of $50 to $99, with data, AI, and custom software as its main service lines (source). N-iX tends to fit enterprises that want a large team extension partner with data and AI depth across European and Latin American delivery centers.
7. ScienceSoft
ScienceSoft has operated since 1989 and is based in McKinney, Texas, in the Dallas area (source). It reports more than 750 consultants, engineers, architects, and AI specialists, more than 4,300 projects delivered, and more than 1,500 client organizations (source). It holds ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certifications (source). For team augmentation it says it can send CVs with rates within 24 hours, organize interviews in 2 to 4 days, and have specialists join your team in 1 to 2 weeks; it also offers a dedicated team model in which it supplies project managers for defined project tasks (source). Clutch shows a 4.8 rating across 45 reviews, a minimum project size of $5,000, and hourly rates of $50 to $99 (source). ScienceSoft tends to fit healthcare, insurance, and financial organizations that want certified processes and a choice between augmentation and a managed team.
8. Toptal
Toptal formed in 2010 and describes itself as the world's largest fully remote company (source). It says only the top 3 percent of applicants are accepted into its network of more than 20,000 vetted professionals in technology, design, finance, and consulting (source). Its site says the average time to match is under 24 hours and that you can work with new talent on a trial basis and pay only if satisfied (source). It reports more than 35,000 clients served (source). On Clutch it holds a 4.8 rating across 53 reviews, a minimum project size of $50,000, and hourly rates of $100 to $149 (source). Toptal tends to fit companies that need one or a few senior specialists quickly and are comfortable managing freelancers directly.
Buyer guide: setting up a dedicated team that works
A dedicated team succeeds or fails on the setup more than on the vendor's logo. Use this checklist with every finalist.
- Pick the model. Decide whether you want individuals who join your team (augmentation), a self contained team you direct (dedicated team), or a team the vendor manages to outcomes (managed or outsourced). Most vendors above offer more than one model, and the price and accountability differ.
- Interview every engineer. Insist on meeting and approving each person. Ask how fast the vendor replaces someone who does not fit and whether a replacement costs you anything.
- Agree on the start timeline. Published timelines vary: Andersen promises shortlists in 48 hours and a team launch in 2 to 4 weeks (source), while ScienceSoft says specialists can join in 1 to 2 weeks (source). Put the dates in the contract.
- Protect your IP and access. Code, documentation, and accounts should live in your systems from day one. Use your identity provider and revoke access the day someone leaves.
- Plan for overlap hours. At least a few hours of shared working time each day keeps standups, reviews, and unblocking fast.
- Measure delivery, not hours. Track cycle time, deploy frequency, and defects alongside hours billed, and review fit with the vendor every month.
What a dedicated team costs
Rates depend mainly on seniority and location. Public Clutch data for the firms above shows hourly rates of $50 to $99 at Andersen, BairesDev, N-iX, ScienceSoft, and Webisoft (source) (source) (source) (source) (source), $100 to $149 at Toptal (source), and $150 to $199 at EPAM (source). Minimum engagements range from $5,000 to $100,000 across the same profiles (source) (source). Compare total cost, including management time, onboarding, and replacements, not only the hourly rate. For rate benchmarks by role and region, see our guide to software developer rates in 2026.
Methodology note
We chose firms that AI assistants and buyer directories commonly name for dedicated development teams, then added Webisoft, which publishes this article. Every fact comes from the firm's own website, its public Clutch profile, Wikipedia, or a public financial filing, linked next to each claim and checked in October 2026. Ratings, review counts, headcounts, and rates change often, so open the linked source before you decide. Where a firm did not publish a fact, we left it out rather than estimate it.
The right dedicated team partner is the one whose model, location, and seniority match how your team works. Shortlist two or three firms, interview the actual engineers, and start with a short trial period before scaling up. If you want senior engineers embedded in your team in Eastern time, see our IT staff augmentation services or contact us.
